Fill out a PDF form

PDFlick reads a PDF's interactive form fields and lets you tap straight into them: text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdowns behave the way the form's author intended. For flat forms that were scanned or exported without real fields, the editor lets you place text anywhere on the page instead.

How to fill out a PDF form

On iPhone & iPad

Open the form and tap Fill Form.
Tap any field to type into it; checkboxes and radio buttons toggle on tap.
Move between fields as you work down the page.
Add a signature with Sign PDF if the form needs one, then save.

On Mac

Open the form on the Mac canvas.
Click into fields and type; use the keyboard to move through the form.
Place a signature where required.
⌘S to save the completed form.

What makes it different

Interactive AcroForm fields are read from the document, so your entries land in the real fields rather than as text pasted on top.
Flat forms with no field definitions can still be completed using the editor's text tool.
Completed forms save as ordinary PDFs that any reader can open.

Fill PDF Form — questions

The form will not let me tap into it — why?

It is probably a flat PDF with no interactive fields, which is common for scanned or exported forms. Use Edit PDF to place text directly on the page instead.

Can I save a partly completed form and come back to it?

Yes. Save it to your library and reopen it later; your entries are stored in the document.

Can I flatten the form so the fields cannot be changed?

Use Protect PDF to set permissions on the saved document, which restricts what other readers are allowed to modify.
